Gavi "Fornaci" 2005 DOCG

The package of this Gavi is worth the price of admission. The beautiful, clear, fluted bottle yields a dry wine with peach and pink grapefruit character, and just a hint of spritz to give it a crisp, palate cleansing snap. The rather short finish serves up citrus and mineral notes. The vines are between 10 and 30 years old.
Gavi "Rolona" 2004 DOCG

The different compositions of the soil compared to the Gavi 'Fornaci', the age of the vines, types of clones, planting density and microclimate make this wine very different from the previous one. Comparative tasting clearly demonstrates how much terroir and vineyard work affects the wine. Amazing quality for a Gavi, with pineapple, pear, floral aromas and hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with masses of fruit and a medium finish. Delicious. The vines are between 30 and 50 years old.
Gavi "Roverto" 2004 DOCG

Produced from an over 80-year-old vineyard with outstanding traditional and genetic heritage. Brilliant, golden-yellow color with straw-yellow nuances. Intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas with initial hints of apple, plum and pear, which open into fuller aromas of hawthorn, lemon, pineapple, broom, peach and almond. To the palate it is agreeable and a confirmation of the nose: crisp in the mouth, with good body and intense flavor well-balanced by alcohol. The finish is persistent and reminiscent of apple, plum and pear.
