La Gondola Reserve Wines
Country of Origin: United
States Appellation:
California
Winemaker:
Winery: Cacciatore
2006 reserve Pinot grigio
The Winemaker Notes: This
Pinot Grigio has a shimmering silver, slight yellow hay color. Its scents of
melon, grapefruit zest, lime and green apple are fresh and vibrant. On the
palate the aromas are mirrored with flavors of melon, green apple, lime, and
grapefruit that are medium bodied and followed by a long-lasting crisp, clean
finish. 18 months stainless steel, 100% malolactic fermentation.
2007 Sangiovese
Winemaker Notes: Dark,
dense presentation. The nose speaks of cassis, redcurrants, gooseberry and other
small, red-berried fruits along with a smoky, dusty aroma that might place one
in the Tuscan hills. On the mouth, the flavors are rich and layered, with big,
spreading Sangiovese tannins. The finish is long and complex, with echos of
mocha, tar and cedar cigar box along with the red and now dark fruit flavors.

Early in 1970, Vincenzo first came to California. He was so impressed by the
potential of the land that he wanted to start his table grapes vineyards.
During the nineties when Sam, his son, started getting involved in the family
business, Vincenzo realized his dream was not yet complete. He began planting
new wine grapes vineyards with the goal of founding his winery, CWO.
At present the Cacciatore Family farms more than 2,200 acres of prime
agricultural land consisting of olive trees, table grapes, wine grapes and an
exclusive nursery of premium varieties and rootstocks. CWO fine wines are
now produced from selected vineyards with a natural attitude towards producing
premium wines with a unique "Natural Character".
Vineyards are located in the San Joaquin Valley (Tulare County), California,
between the coastal foothills and the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
