Le Poesie Wines
Pinot Grigio
|
WINEMAKER NOTES: Wine made from grapes from the Veneto hills. Slightly bright golden color with copper twilights. Charming nose of roasted peanuts, white chocolate, yellow cherries, and white flowers. The palate has both good weight and acidity with flavors of white spices and Granny Smith apples. Admirably long finish. This is REAL Pinot Grigio!"

WINEMAKER NOTES: Very floral, almost late-harvest style, with dried pineapple and apricot, light honey and minerals. Full-bodied, with a subtle but well-ordered palate and a long, minerally finish. You will not find very many 100% Garganega Soaves, most are blended with other white varietals. The perfect wine for those who are tired of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.

WINEMAKER NOTES: Insanely rich, dried fruit with chocolate and a bit of spice and clootie dumpling! Rich, raisin and cinnamon with pepper and a long, dark chocolate finish. This wine is an excellent example of a Valpolicella maid from Corvina Veronese Grossa, a step above the rest.

Amarone della Valpolicella in a wine of a very ancient tradition and praised by poets and writers as far back as in the Roman era. This wine which boasts an ancient tradition, is still made in small quantity from the best grapes of Valpolicella, picked up and left to dry on rafters. Amarone is perfectly suited to spicy and savory dishes and is also a real treat for all occasions and as corroborant wine between meals.
To make this blend of 75% Corvina Veronese, 20% Rondinella and 5%
Molinara, the grapes are harvested and then left to dry naturally in
a well-ventilated room until January. This drying process, called
appassimento, is an ancient technique and is unique to the
Valpolicella region. Le Poesie has improved this technique by
introducing innovative equipment which controls temperature and
humidity conditions inside the drying center in order to preserve
the integrity of the grapes during the delicate phase of the 3 to 4
month drying period. The wine is then aged in new French barriques
for 18 months, followed by an additional 7 months in larger oak
casks and 14 months in bottle. It is deep purple in color with a
bouquet full of dried fruit.
