area
in the
San Joaquin valley between Sacramento and Stockton that extends
east until it runs into the
Sierra Foothills AVA.
Although this area is part of California's huge,
hot
Central Valley,
San Francisco Bay's cooling breezes can lower
temperatures by as much as 10°F compared to areas
farther south. Lodi is considered a Region
III/Region IV area. The Micro-Climates of the Lodi Appellation
Climate Region III is equivalent to France's
Rhône
region and includes portions of the following
areas: Alameda, Alexander Valley, Contra Costa,
el dorado, knights valley,
lake,
McDowell valley, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa,
Paso
Robles,
Placer, Redwood Valley, Riverside,
San Benito, Santa Clara, and Sonoma. Climate Region IV is similar to southern Spain and includes portions of the following areas: Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Fresno, Merced, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, San Joaquin, and Yolo.
